Linux Gaming with Nobara OS

I've been using Nobara OS for already 4 months, doing mainly frontend web development, office work (spreadsheet and text documents) and gaming.

Regarding the gaming part, the system comes already pre-packed with a lot of kernel patches and applications, making it simple to start gaming and enjoying the system.

Some of the main applications required by everyone that plays under Linux come already pre-installed:

  • WINE
  • Proton + ProtonUP-Qt
  • Discord
  • Steam
  • Lutris
  • MangoHud + Goverlay + Gamescope
  • ...

But not everything is perfect, there are still some issues with the games, Fall Guys for example doesn't allow you to invite people to your team, some games still don't work because of the EasyAntiCheat, sometimes you need to mess around with the game files in order to make it work, ...

Still, comparing what we have today, to what we used to have 1 or 2 years ago, it's completely different, I would say that 90% of the games I try, work without any issue, and I try a lot of them just for the sake to see if they work or not.

Definitely something worth the shot, and because of Nobara OS, I've been able to completely removed Windows from my machine.
